The Royal Canadian Mint Issues a 2007 Line of Collector Coins

new coins 2007 rcm 300 moonOn October 19 the Royal Canadian Mint produced and launched into circulation 10 new collector coins dated 2007. Among them there was a 25-cent coin, which was nicely painted to commemorate the 60th wedding anniversary of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

 

The new 2007 coins also included a 15 dollar sterling silver coin of Queen Victoria. This one was the first coin from the 5 series issued. The series illustrate the royal effigies from the history of Canadian coinage. In addition the Royal Canadian Mint introduced several gifts products for both: people passionate about coin designs and those that are fans of classic winter sports.

Bennett, the President and Chief Executive Officer of the Royal Canadian Mint. In addition he mentioned that the newest products of the Mint are "innovative and attractive choices for the discerning gift giver.”

2008 Vignettes of Royalty Series - the 15 Dollar Sterling Silver Queen Victoria

 

2007 coins rcm queen victoriaThe new series of the RCM includes royal effigies found on both reverse and obverse of the silver coins. The first coin's reverse features the effigy of Her Majesty Queen Victoria. This effigy represents an ultra-high relief, which was also found on coins denominated 1-, 25-, and 50-cents, these denominations being issued in Canada in the period between 1870 and 1901.

 

RCM looks forward to issue in 2008 new five-coin series that will feature King Edward VII and King George V. In addition, in 2009 these new series will include King George VI and Queen Elizabeth II. It is worth mentioning that Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth approved all these designs. These coins are limited to 10,000 pieces.

 

2007 25-Cent Coin - Commemoration of the Queen's 60th Anniversary Wedding.

 

The Royal Canadian Mint issued an oversize coin, which is plated in nickel and enriched with a reproduction of the Glass State Coach of British Royal Family, which was accurately painted. The illustration focused on the coach transporting young Princess Elizabeth to Westminster Abbey, where her wedding was about to take place. The coin was issues to commemorate the 60th Anniversary wedding. The number of such coins is limited to only 35,000.

 

2008 300 Dollar Gold Coin - Four Seasons Moon Mask

 

This 14-carat gold coin includes an illustration of a red cedar mask crafted by hand by a Vancouver artist together with Jody Broomfield, who is a member of the Coast Salish People. The coin is rendered in a proof finish and enriched with an enamel effect featuring several colors. The $300 Gold Coin pays a tribute to the significance of the moon and appeal to various cultures around the world. There number of coins is limited to 1,200.
