Hi.

I was sorting out and adding up all of my coins a few weeks ago and i came across a one pound coin that i have never seen before...

The heads side is pretty normal really showing queen elizabeth the 2nd with her name and says gibraltar 2007...

On the other side of the coin it says one pound at the top and under that is a picture of a skull, under the skull there is smaller writing saying, discovery of neanderthal skull in gibraltar 1848.

So just wondered really does this mean this coin is not english? Is it rare?

I've tryed seaching the net for it but havent found it anywhere. (Sorry i don't know a lot about coins.)

i have 2 50 p coins dated 1979 and 1978 with the words AUSTRALIA oppisite the queens head are they rare

One of these coins sold for £921,000 on ebay yesterday, so there value has soared.
Thats gone up loads since Monday, what sort of price could you get for them in the future I wonder?
Would worldwide collectors want them?

I can't believe how much the value of these coins have soared, someone bought one yesterday for £921,000!!!
I wonder how much they'll be worth in the future if they gone up by so much in 3 days?

There seems to be quite an active market for these on eBay! Most are being bought for at least £300, though one went for £5800 a couple of days ago.

I got a coin of 1994 which was minted to celebrate the 300 years of the bank of england.more than 90 percent is gold.
if anyone wants it i sell it for 1000 pounds or more.
